Alderley Edge and Cheshire Countryside

If you are after an organised walk, that has beautiful scenery, Alderley Edge and Cheshire countryside is the one for you! It’s another National Trust location and a new place for us to visit, and probably somewhere we’re going to visit regularly.

If you are a member of the National Trust, parking is free (just remember to scan your membership card). If you aren’t a member, it will cost you £4 for up to 3 hours, or £7 all day. This seems quite steep, but you could actually spend a full day here exploring.

We visited here with both the baby and the dog, first thing in the morning, so the weather was perfect for the walk we planned on doing. The car park is big, but I can see it totally filling up, fast. There are toilets at the car park too, and as expected, they’re clean and well maintained. I will forever visit National Trust places with or without a membership for the foreseeable, for this reason alone. Knowing there are clean toilets with baby changing puts me at ease, and I’m sure most people would agree.

There are five routes you can take through the woodland: The Wizards Wander, Miners Ramble, Donkey Track Trail, Woodland Valley Walk and Castle Rock Stroll. We followed The Wizards Wander – this lead us to stumble across two breath-taking lookout points that overlooked the Cheshire Countryside, and a massive city could be seen in the distance. It almost reminded me of the Griffiths Observatory in Hollywood.

As well as the views being phenomenal, the routes were clean and easy to follow. If you want to visit, I advise bringing some food and then sitting and enjoying the views mid walk. We had a pit stop to feed the baby, and it was very relaxing just sitting and staring, snapping away.
