We decided to visit Clumber Park as a pitstop on our way to Center Parcs Sherwood Forest – unknowingly realising that Sherwood Forest is right next to it. It was a 20 minute drive to Sherwood Forest from Clumber Park – and I think a good five minutes of that is just exiting the longest drive way in the world – like seriously, the drive way in and out of the grounds just keeps going and going.
Not realising until we arriving, but the grounds of Clumber Park is massive, we barely touched it – we stuck to the main courtyard area and a little beyond as we couldn’t stay too long.

As mentioned above, once we entered the grounds, we had to drive a good five minutes or so to actually get to the car park – and finding the car park wasn’t easy. Cars are parked in all kinds of places – they could have been staff, or visitors, we wouldn’t have known. So we did actually drive around a little just trying to figure out where the main car park. We eventually found it, and it was pretty obvious – when you have driven down the main tree-lined road, you’ll see a road on the left-hand side to turn down with kiosks and clearly NT staff ready to scan membership cards.
As usual, free for NT members, or £5 for an adult, and £2,50 for a child – which I do think is totally worth it given you would spend an entire day here.
The main areas to clumber park like your National trust tea rooms, shops etc are right at the car park, so you won’t miss them. We strolled through the court yard, had a browse in some shops and came across a little activity centre for children – where they could learn about insects and the area. Totally a place used for school trips. We headed over to the river, near the chapel which was a beautiful sight to walk along, followed by lots of geese and swans – they were everywhere, as well as their poop! (Wear good shoes).

If you plan on going for a walk, I would highly recommend Clumber Park, as there are miles and miles that you could walk or cycle, through fields, paths, livestock and more. Perfect for families, days out, walks, dogs, couples, anyone.
