There is no better feeling than being in Magic Kingdom. The views, the smells, the music and the atmosphere. It truly is the happiest place on earth. For me the build up of arriving at the park to getting to Cinderella’s castle is just one of the best moments. Driving from the villa past the Walt Disney World sign, parking up and walking to the ferry terminal, seeing the tip of the castle as you sail through the Seven Seas Lagoon (and equally getting jealous of the surrounding hotels, the Grand Floridian). Then arriving at the entrance, hearing your Magic Band make that magical ‘ding’, then entering the park and walking down Main Street. Are you crying, cause I am, just thinking about it.

I don’t want to talk too much about everything that makes up the park as you can read it here in my Florida blog. Instead I just want to talk about our time here on this particular holiday.
So, this was my first time back to Walt Disney World in a few years, and it was Rich’s first time ever – obviously I got him a ‘First Visit’ badge (you can pick up for free in the majority of the shops along Main Street).
In 2018, we visited Disneyland for our honeymoon, and as that visit was so fresh on our mind – it was crazy to see the comparison between the two parks. Rich could not believe how spacious and massive the land was around the castle – I didn’t actually realise how big Magic Kingdom was since visiting Disneyland.
Included in our tickets was the Photopass – which is my favourite thing to get in Disney. You really could go to Disney and not take your camera because there are so many photo opportunities and cast members everywhere. The moment we walked onto Main Street we had family photos taken.

I don’t know what it is about Main Street – but it sparks so many facts. I sit and watch Vlogs about Disney all day, every day (they are addictive) hence all of the Disney facts – like the ‘Go Away Green’ paint that Disney use to make your eyes not focus on any work that is taking place in the park.
The first ride we went on was ‘It’s A Small World’ and guess what? It broke down on us, ha! It felt like forever, but it was for around 10 mins that we were sat amongst all of the amazing animatronic dolls – they are unreal. Aside to it breaking down, is there a better ride to start off your Disney holiday?
Our favourite rides are Splash Mountain – which sadly could be changing to Princess and The Frog – It will still be amazing because it’ll still be the same ride, just a different theme. However, we just love it as a family. Everything about the ride. The fact that it is the longest, the catchy songs, the smell, the hidden Mickeys, the attention to detail … just everything, everything that has gone into this ride is phenomenal and just so much fun!

Our other favourite ride is obviously, the incredible Haunted Mansion. I don’t know what it is about this ride but it gets me in the feels every time I go on it, read about it, watch videos about it and watch the film. It is a perfect Doombuggie ride, the intricate detailing and the work that has gone into this ride blows my mind. If you have watched the Disney + series ‘Behind The Attraction’, you will learn more about it, and will 100% love it more than you already did. We are massive fans of a good queue, an immersive queue and theming is everything – from the ghosts running above you head on the canopy, the walk ways, to the chamber “WITH NO WINDOWS AND NO DOORS”. Oh, it is just so good. We also love the likes of Thunder Mountain, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Peter Pan’s Flight, Pirates of the Caribbean…
On this particular visit, it rained. In fact, two of the times we visited on this holiday it rained in the Magic Kingdom. The first time, was one of the most hilarious moments in a long time. Rich, my Dad and myself went onto Big Thunder Mountain with the sun cracking the flags. The moment we were on the coaster and got to the first drop when you go outdoors. All we could see was water (confused thinking, are we on Splash Mountain?!) but wasn’t sure if it was part of the ride or not. It really wasn’t. We got absolutely soaked the whole length of the ride. Ahh, that Floridian rain, I love it!

The third visit back at Magic Kingdom, on our last day. It was just myself, Rich and my Brother. We went in the afternoon, hit up a few rides including the Monsters Inc Laugh Floor (hilarious, it is a must!). We came out of this attraction to the whole of Tomorrowland completely flooded! We hit up the People Mover to keep dry – surprisingly not everyone else’s plan considering it’s a sheltered ride. The rain got so bad, it had flooded a good foot or so, and then obviously thunder and lightening came – which is a show in itself in Florida. We managed to do a few more rides like Winnie the Pooh, but the rain wasn’t stopping. So ultimately, the parades and fireworks got cancelled so we called it a day (so did everyone else in the park). That was fun, like, it actually was.
I must add, that once the rain slowly calmed down, the sunset with the dramatic rainy sky made the castle look AMAZING.

The rain seems to schedule itself for a parade – so because of this Disney have a Rainy Day Parade that we thoroughly enjoyed. You see all of the classic characters: Mickey and friends, Princesses, Peter Pan … all of the characters you want to see. But they are all dressed in rain coats with hats and umbrellas or under shelter (mainly the princesses). The song is sooo catchy that I find myself singing it quite frequently. So don’t ever be dishearted if you think parades will be completely cancelled because its Disney, they always have back up!

One of our visits to Magic Kingdom on this holiday was to attend the Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party, you can read all about it here.
The Tangled Toilets, I would say is one of the prettiest places in the park. Again, the attention to detail is so good! The lanterns, and the paintings are a beautiful touch, and looks even more stunning of a night!

Make sure you come here in the evening for the perfecte lantern photo opportunity! We done this at the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, so check that blog out!
A great place for a little peace and quiet, is over at Tom Sawyer Island. Just jump the little boat, and you can find yourself wandering a small quiet island.

Definitely a great place to go with little ones, if you need a few calm moments. It is never too busy.
After a long break from visiting Magic Kingdom, it was so good to be back. Especially as part of a big family holiday. Being in Magic Kingdom in particular sparks more inspiration than any other holiday. Whether it is a spark for creativity or a spark to want more Disney in your life. You’ll definitely come home with some major Disney blues.
