Disney’s Hotel Cheyenne is the dream hotel for our Toy Story fanatic little boy. The hotel is Toy Story and Wild West themed throughout. It’s only a 3 star hotel, however there is a difference between your typical 3 star, and a Disney 3 star – so we had no issues whatsoever with booking this hotel.
It’s located within Disneyland Paris, so you are not too far from anything really. Around a 15 minute walk from the Disney village, and roughly a 20 minute walk to both of the Disney parks. We are walkers, we love a good stroll. So waking up every day walking through the Wild West, then passing by and having a little sneaky peak into the other incredible Disney hotels was a dream *cough* Marvel Hotel *cough*.

Because we booked our park tickets with a hotel through Disney, this guaranteed us to have Extra Magic Hours. EMH is early entrance into the parks, so parks open at half 9. But hotel staying guests can enter at half 8. Apart from our arrival day, we done EMH every day, I don’t see why you wouldn’t. Lots of attractions in the park (we found) were closed during this hour. But being in an empty park – or what felt like an empty park, makes it all worth it.
If you are maybe rushing, or want to save your feet a little, you can also catch the free shuttle service to and from the hotel to the parks – and that operates every few minutes. We didn’t use this service, so can’t make much comment. But you can find the shuttle service not too far from the front of reception.
Hotel lobby and grounds
The lobby is perfectly themed. The perk of staying in this hotel, in our opinion, is that it is the best themed. You really cant knock what Disney have done here. Everything that could be cowboy, or wild west is here, and definitely not done in a tacky way at all.

Check in went smoothly. We waited about 15 minutes, and the cast member who checked us in gave us everything we needed to know, and more. Directions around the resort, where to pick up photo passes, how to use the magic pass, character meets etc. and he even gave us a special 30th anniversary badge.
Between the hours of 8.15 am and 11 am each day you can have the chance to meet either Woody or Jessie in the hotel lobby. We planned to check this out on day three of our stay, and luckily that day it was Woody’s turn to make an appearance. Dexter was absolutely chuffed.

The only way to describe the grounds of Hotel Cheyenne is peaceful. Even though we knew the hotel was pretty full, we barely came across any other guests. From our hotel rooms, to walking through the streets, we only saw a handful of guests. Most of them were chilling on the curb sides, or at the saloon outdoor seating area. Country music was also constantly playing which was super relaxing.
In the main courtyard area, you can pay for pony rides, we didn’t catch the prices. But I imagine if you have a long stay booked, it is something different to do, especially if you wanted time away from the busy hours in the parks.

When you are walking to the parks, if you cut in at the path just before building 15, you will find yourself on the main path that takes you along the river, past the Marvel hotel and straight to Disney Village.
Room
Rooms are obviously perfect for families – it’s Disney! You have the option of two double beds, or a double with two singles. Our room was a double bed, with a sofa bed, and a travel cot was included in the room too for the baby.
The theming of the room was great. Sheriff Woody theme! Dexter was in awe of it, to the point where a picture of Woody, Jessie and Bullseye kept him awake one night … that was fun! The room had some great quirks incorporating both Toy Story and Wild West. A cowboy boot lampshade, Woody patterned curtains, toiletries with characters on and more.

We always take one extension lead and one adapter plug because there just never seems to be enough plugs. But.. Hotel Cheyenne had European plugs, with USB and a UK plug – never seen that before on holiday. We also brought our own travel hair dryer, as we read that they can be quite hit and miss, but out room did have a hair dryer in it, in the bathroom, not the most powerful one, but one that could do the job.
The room also had a vast amount of storage space, from rails to drawers. And make sure you check the drawers, as the baby found four extra pillows hidden away in them. Four!
Unlike most city break holidays where you get tea and coffee in the room, that doesn’t happen here. We did need a kettle so the baby could have warm milk – so we easily borrowed a kettle from reception, which required no deposit.
If you do crave that early morning coffee, or late night cup of tea, you can get a free hot drink with your key card per day. Within the resort, you will find hot drink machines (like ones you would find in swimming pool activity centres) and you just simply tap your card and choose your drink. There’s a wide selection. We were staying in building 22, and the closest hot drink machine was in building 21 – so make sure you note that down.
Shops, food and drink
Attached to the lobby, you can find the hotel shop, you can find all Disney merchandise that you could need from pins, to ears, to autograph books and souvenirs. Next to the shop is a Starbucks. And this one is a proper Starbucks, where you can sit down if you fancy it. Hotel Cheyenne and Hotel Santa Fe are the only hotels that have a Starbucks in the grounds. All the more reason to book your stay here.
From the lobby you can also find access to toilets, Chuck Wagon Cafe and the Garter Saloon. There is even an indoor children’s play centre in the middle of the lobby, so if check in is taking a little longer than expected, there is something to entertain the children for a while.
We didn’t eat at the Chuck Wagon Cafe, but I think we definitely will on our next visit. We’ve heard good things about it, it is even meant to have some of the best food in the entirety of Disneyland Paris. We did however, have a snacky tea on our third night at the Garter Saloon. It is essentially a sports bar, so if you don’t want to miss out on the football, you can watch it here with a drink and yummy food. We just shared a pizza and some tortilla chips between us, with a beer for Rich and a shandy for me AKA une Panache.

Also, before arrival you could add breakfast onto your stay at an extra (quite expensive) cost. We did umm and ahh for a while, but we did the maths, and it wasn’t worth it for us. And now thinking back, just having a few snacks in the morning, and getting through the day on either booked restaurant meals or quick service was a cheaper option and suit our style of non stop holidaying.
Other Disney hotels
Santa Fe
We are staying at Hotel Santa Fe in December this year – so we were very intrigued to see what we had signed ourselves up for. So, this hotel is a 2*, and you can tell. It definitely does need a lick of paint. It’s a very basic, but well themed hotel. I definitely wouldn’t shy away from staying here at some point. It is cars themed, so desert like. And like the Cheyenne, it is a resort rather than one big hotel building.
The pathways have road tracks on them, and the entrance is very neony-vegasy-like. This hotel, as mentioned above also has a Starbucks, with a shop inside (that seemingly had better Toy Story merchandise than our hotel). The hotel has the longest walk to the parks and Disney Village, maybe like an extra 5 minutes, but nothing to put you off.
Sequoia Lodge
We’d describe Sequoia Lodge as a Disney Center Parcs. It’s very green and wooden, and gives off a very natural vibe. We both really liked it here, we would actually consider staying here just as much as the Cheyenne.
It is also a 3 star hotel like the Cheyenne. It definitely feels more posh, with a lobby, pool tables, bars, and even the shop frels fancier. But they are both the polar opposite to each other, you really can’t compare them.
Oh, and there is a pool here too.
Newport Bay
We definitely wanted a sneaky peak in Newport Bay, after hearing loads about it. First impression was that the lobby had a very lovely smell! You can definitely tell Disney has upped its game with this hotel.
It is a very beautiful hotel, with a lovely nautical theme around it. It faces the Marvel Hotel, that is directly opposite from the lagoon – so the views are immense.

We would definitely have to stay here to see if it is actually worth the few hundreds of pounds extra over the Hotel Cheyenne. I’ve read and heard a lot that with the extra prices, you still get best value at the Cheyenne. But we will definitely have to try here one time in the near future.

It’s definitely a place to stay if you want to splurge on your Disney holiday.
Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel
Now this is our ultimate hotel pick. We are all huge Marvel fans in our household, so we couldn’t wait to have a look around. Again, like Newport Bay, the hotel smells amazing. And as a look, it is very very slick. It literally looks like Tony Stark himself has designed it.
The shop here is only small, but hopefully with the Avengers Campus opening in the next few months, the merchandise Marvel-wise will be better.

We discovered that you can only do the character meets here if you are staying at this hotel, but since being home we have read that that is no longer the case – so who actually knows. But if you have your heart set on meeting Spiderman, do check first.
We actually ate at this hotel, at the Downtown buffet restaurant. The food was well themed, delicious and plentiful. The staff however, seemed to be a bit too serious, unlike the rest of Disney. We’ve heard that that is the case for the Manhattan restaurant too, as well as the food not being that good, or at least definitely not worth the prices they are charging.

Like Newport Bay, Id like to see if staying here would be worth the money. But it is still a very expensive hotel to stay at. That isn’t saying that we would say no to it, because if we had the option to stay at a Marvel hotel, we would jump at it.
Apart from Davy Crockett Ranch ( I can’t see us staying here, logistically) we just need to have a look at the Disneyland hotel once the renovations have been completed. That is the ultimate dream, am I right?!

We also bumped into our favourite Disney Youtubers here too! Adam Hattan and Gary C, we had a lovely chat with them, and snapped a cute photo.

Overall
Our plan for visiting Disneyland Paris over the next couple of years with our little boy, is to try each hotel (hopefully) kind of working from the bottom. So our next break is actually at Santa Fe – which is a step back compared to the Cheynnne, but you get what I mean.
Honestly, ater having a nosey in each hotel on this holiday, I think best value for money, best theming, best vibe, best atmosphere, pretty much best everything is the Cheynne – at least on initial impression.
It had everything we needed, especially as first timers with a young child. It gave our little boy lots of freedom to run around when he couldn’t in the busy peaks of the day in the parks.
It was just so beautiful and calm, especially given the chaos and magic that happens in the parks. It definitely helped ud all wind down before bed.
We would without a doubt recommend Hotel Cheyenne to families.
