Little Moreton Hall

Little Moreton Hall is located in Congleton – and after posting photos of our visit into a NT group on Facebook, it seems to be a favourite visit for a lot of members. Free of charge for National Trust members, but for non-members it will cost you £12 for an adult and £6 for a child.

The shop here has now gone due to not receiving enough footfall, so it is now just a second-hand bookshop. Most NT locations have one of these shops in the grounds, they are super cute, and the majority of the books cost less than £3.

If you haven’t heard anything about Little Moreton Hall, anyone will tell you that the house is incredibly quirky. It is a Tudor manor house, and everything is so wonky and uneven, it’s hard to believe that it is still standing! We visited with my Mum and Dad, my Dad is a joiner, so seeing this house through his eyes was interesting, haha!

When I say it is quirky, like…everything is on an angle and is slanted. It is so crazy, but this is why people love visiting it. Being able to walk through the house and slide through what feels like cracks in the walls to see new rooms is so much fun. You have to visit it to believe it!

We sat out in the court yard with cream teas and I got a delicious hot chocolate. Ducks were wandering in between everyone sat outside, they were like dogs begging for food – I’ve never been so close to ducks, slightly terrifying haha!

As well as the house to visit, you can explore the grounds with plenty of walking paths.
