We visited Hare Hill over Easter weekend, as it seemed quite fitting. And to add to that, over the Easter period, each National Trust location puts on Easter egg hunts for Children, that cost £3 per child, and at the end they get a yummy chocolate egg.

Hare Hill is located in Macclesfield, pretty close to the Alderley Edge National Trust, and just a little further from the likes of Dunham Massey and Quarry Bank Mill.
Entry into Hare Hill is £9 for adults and £4.50 for children, and parking is free. But as a National Trust member, we get entry for free.
Hare Hill is quite a small-ish site, there is a car park upon arrival. Then a very small reception area to scan or buy your tickets. Unlike other NT places, where there is a room with a shop etc, it is simply a little kiosk – but I think you can get a hot beverage in this room.

Aside to that, along your walk, near the toilets, they have a second hand book shop, which you can find in pretty much ever NT site.
Dogs aren’t permitted here. So, make sure you save this visit for a day when your dog has already been out for a good walk. In some National Trust sites, dogs aren’t allowed in the gardens because of rare plants, and if a dog was to do their business on them, it could essentially kill all of the beautiful plants – hence, no dogs!

There are a few paths that you can follow, some are more pram/wheelchair friendly than others (but the staff will tell you what way is best). The paths are beautiful tree and plant-lined, and the gardens are tremendous, Dexter was absolutely loving running round in them.
You can walk through the surrounding fields, you will just have to watch out and be respectful of the cattle.
It is definitely a place to come for a very nature driven-walk. It is perfect for young children, and a very calming place.
